WIPs

Might as well post these, since I haven't in a while.
1. Orientation for the ex, today, and tomorrow.
2. Leave for a flight, tomorrow, as well.

Was going to post another, but blogger wants to change the colours in it drastically. Like, blue to red, here.

Nudity!

Omg R-rated painting!

Like this, mostly because I put more work into it, as well as the posing. This was essentially what I wanted that 2-week painting in Digital Tools to look like, to a degree.
I like her hips and the clothing and the ropes. Her face could use more work, but I like how her nose turned out. Maybe I should work more in the background; the past paintings have straight blue, green, or red, nothing varied.
Eh, for the next painting, then.

Because I am my own fangirl.

Hush, you knew this was coming in some form or another.
Basically, these are submissions for a DeviantArt contest, using my crappy slap together painting style. I like it, I know I could go further with it (ala More detail, bright colours, some form of graphic design employed) but I choose to half-ass it. And I might just start working on other paintings. This is getting catchy~

Theodore, with summary.

Claire, with summary. I FINALLY got her to look right, not some weird variation of a 12 year old girl with huge eyes.
Well, okay, not as much, then. :\

ANGST. Angsty angst angst.

Photobucket

A little more painting. Basically, this was an idea I had when I was 16, and went through with it in my usual 'Show full body everyone', and pencil crayons.
This, I think, looks a little better (richer, mabye?).
Yes, I couldn't think of anyone else to draw except these guys, and the idea suits them kinda well. :P
I have nothing against the Church, I'm just toying with pictures and ideas, here, really.

Went there over again.

Photobucket

Well it's true. Those plums were mine. You could have asked me, and I'd have said yes, but you just took them. Don't say that, it's the principle of asking! Come back here! You owe me plums!

The Fam.

Photobucket

Yep, this is the family, by request of the one in orange, there.
Please ignore the blatant perspective and anatomy errors, I'll fix them tomorrow.
For those who don't know:
Me, Jake, Mum, Dad, Jo. All generally to scale, in clothing I usually recall said people in. Our noses aren't always circles or triangles :o)

Went there again, because I forgot something.

Photobucket

Tuesday, June 3, 2008

Oh, I went there.

Photobucket

I totally went there. This is what I have come down to. There's little to do while job searching except more job searching, so I've come down to this. I trust it'll only last as long as my unemployment does.

The above is part of an art trade with a friend of mine from Oakville; this is Elegy (Elly) from an RP entitled 'Hiccups'. She drew Theodore for me~ Frankly this is the first major finished work I've done in a month and a half.

This is spawned from finishing the above, and still wanting to draw. Pestered another friend of mine on MSN to tell me what to draw, and this was suggested. Ignore the lack of perspective, and my total loss as to what Front Street looks like.

Ra-Ra-Rasputin, Lover of the Russian Queen.

Well! It seems a miracle has occurred, and the connection 'I' used to have is working again, so I'll just upload what I can before I'm back to 1Mbps only near windows.

All from May 16th onward:

Imagination in Tottenham, ON

Borrowed Anastasia from Jo, who has special edition (!!) with Don Bluth teaching the kiddies how to draw the characters. Anastasia and Dimitri, frankly, came across as boring, and I had much fun drawing Rasputin, as above-

And Bartok, flipping out in his way.

A Theodore, just to show he's still kicking about my mind, looking as however he does.

And a Theodore as he would look if he ate enough, dressed properly, got enough sleep, and generally felt much better than he does, now.

Finally!

I'll be damned if this isn't the hardest website to log into in the history of the web. I just went through 5 minutes of logging, re-logging, changing passwords, signing in under an e-mail that apparently doesn't exist, but here I am now.

Have gone cafe sketching whenever I eat out for lunch.
Above are some pics, most recent, first.

Once more!

Dear Guest-
It is a pity that my I do not update nearly as often as I should, but once a month seems fair compared to other areas that update much less often as that (at times it seems near on bi-annually) however, that is another matter, entirely.

This post, Guest, involves my recent delvings into the research and backstory involved with a current Character Design assignment, as well as much of my process:

The first two involve a transformation sequence from Dr. Jekyll to (loosely) Mr. Hyde, although in this case, the gentleman in question would be sorely unable to transform back, as in about pose 5, he would be quite dead.

Purging

Well, Guest, it's been much too long since I last posted, and needless to say, I have an impressively large amount of work finished, yet a small amount is available to publish online.
So! For the moment, I shall post my work that has been created within the digital tools class, as it is readily available on this computer, and thus, easier to upload.

To start!
It began with painting work already completed:

Followed by painting work we had done, last semester:

Which was then followed by a poster, and I am not going to show that simply because I know I could have done much better on it, so trust me that it really looked bad.
However!
I then became the queen:

And found a strange forest:

And now...well, this is where things get curious.
See, I was searching for an idea, and this one idea dropped out of my head, and onto the screen, and it's been working out rather nicely. However, the subject matter could be excused completely as a 'Ceci n'est pas une pipe', where really, it's only offensive to people when their minds run away from them, and if a 4 year old saw it, they would be slightly confused, and think some of it rather silly.
But I don't want to start all over again...

(What's done so far)
(Also: look at the first frame: Tetsuo! :P)

Changing a black horse for a white.

As you can see, Guest, I have recently changed the outlay, as well as provider of the space that I call my own. My reasons for doing so are my own, and generally involve ease of use, as well as ease of connection between my fellow artists, and I am glad that such a transition has been done so on an early notice, rather than leaving an entire gallery of work unattended, or transferring all finished pieces in a lengthy and cumbersome process that would have taken much more time, dear Guest, than I would prefer to use.

There shall not be any recent works updated within this post, sadly, unless I come across a certain connecting cord that the current instrument I use to capture my work requires; you see, I recently returned to my current living quarters, and conveniently left such an item at my previous home, and the journey involved in bringing such an item to me is much more involved than I would wish, and thus, I shall be on the search for this cord until further notice. (In fact, my current schedule allows me some time to traipse about the city to search for such a connection, and I may do so within the next week).

Until that point arrives, I wish you good day, and many great works of your own.

Previously, on Shoelacekeys:

>
Good Day, Guest;

These next few works were created over the Yuletide season, especially those you see involving colour. The family of your's truly was in a very artistic mood when considering their relation, and I am proud to say that their thoughtfulness has been a great benefit to myself.
The first two pieces were created at the Christmas celebration of the family of my father, the hands are of my younger brother, and the arms are those of a close family friend. All subsequent works were plucked from imagination, and I believe this shows all too much with the very deflated apple near the bottom.
